SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) is the most widely used rubber in industrial flooring. It's made partly from recycled rubber (including reclaimed tyre rubber), making it a durable and cost-effective choice. SBR is safe for commercial and industrial use and is non-toxic in solid form. It is not recommended for food contact surfaces or applications where sustained water exposure is critical — for those, EPDM is the preferred alternative.

Thickness depends on the application:

Properly installed rubber matting in a commercial or industrial environment typically lasts 5–15 years, depending on foot and vehicle traffic, UV exposure, and cleaning routine.
